Helping Children of Adult Patients

Sometimes children of adult patients need support or family members need help talking about a patient’s condition to children or want help to prepare for a bedside visit. Children have unique developmental needs when coping with and understanding the illness, injury or death of a loved one. Our pediatric staff has specific training and expertise that can help.

This free service is available to support children (18 years and under) of adult patients who are experiencing a life altering illness or injury or death. Services are available for immediate and extended family members (children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews, etc.)

Ask your provider or care team to page the HCAP team. HCAP team members are available in person Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and by phone nights and weekends.
