Dogs on Call
Patients who love dogs or miss a family pet while in the hospital can get a visit from a therapy dog. The Dogs on Call therapy dog program offered by the Center for Human-Animal Interaction, provides registered therapy dogs that can pay a visit to most patients at the VCU Medical Center and some off-campus locations, depending on the patient’s medical condition.
Interaction with companion animals can help ease your stay in the hospital, reduce stress and improve the healing environment.
