Swallow, Upper Airway, and Voice
Swallow disorders may be a result of previous treatments, surgeries, or underlying conditions; upper airway disorders include certain breathing conditions (such as paradoxical vocal fold motion, vocal cord dysfunction, exercise induced laryngeal obstruction) chronic cough, and chronic throat clearing; voice disorders encompass a variety of disorders that may be impacting your ability to use your voice to meet your communication needs.
Treatment
We will evaluate your swallowing ability (clinical swallow evaluation, modified barium swallow study-MBS, and/or fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallow- FEES), upper airway function, and or current level of voice use to determine goals for therapy. Based on the results we may provide education, compensatory strategies (workarounds), and/or or exercises.
We offer 1-on-1 appointments with a speech language pathologist specifically trained in swallow, upper airway, and voice evaluation and treatment who will address your individual needs and help you achieve your goals.
