Timely communication of critical results to the referring clinicians is a Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goal. • Receive a facsimile (fax) from VCU Health with an auto generated level of life threatening, significant, or potentially concerning
• Call the phone number listed on the facsimile
• Provide the unique password on the fax
• Listen to the critical test result notification
• Press the 1 key to close the message
