Our services
Unlike a cardiologist who mostly performs minimally invasive procedures on the heart, a cardiothoracic surgeon is a doctor who is trained to perform procedures on several different organs in the thorax (chest). Our world-class cardiothoracic surgeons are here to help with surgical treatment options to address even the most complicated of cases.
The most common conditions we treat are:
- Aneurysm, or enlargement, of the aorta that may require repair.
- Coronary artery disease (CAD) develops when you have blockages in your arteries that can lead to heart attack or stroke). If you have CAD, you may require coronary artery bypass surgery.
- Heart valve abnormalities, including a narrowed valve — or stenosis — and a leaking valve can often be treated by performing a heart valve repair or replacement procedure.
- Heart weakness (also known as heart failure) may require a heart transplant or support from a heart machine.
