VCU Health Chief Operating Officer Michael Elliott, Pharm.D., MSHA, FACHE, will be taking on a new role as the vice chair of the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association's (VHHA) Board of Directors.
Each officer serves for a 12-month term on the board, which is comprised of hospital and health system leaders from across Virginia. VHHA collaborates with members and community partners to ensure the sustainability of the state's health care system and to improve the health of all Virginians.
“We are extremely proud of Dr. Elliott's appointment to the VHHA board, as he is building collaborative relationships to ensure all patients who walk into a Virginia hospital get the best care possible,” said Marlon Levy, M.D., interim CEO of VCU Health. “In his short time with VCU Health, Dr. Elliott has already demonstrated a steadfast commitment to our team members and students by making sure the entire continuum of care is integrated with our health systems.”
Elliott's role with VCU Health integrates the academic health systems' organizational plans with its operations with the goal of improving the performance of VCU's integrated health systems. Elliott joined VCU Health in March 2022 after serving as the senior vice president and chief transformation officer of Centra Health in Lynchburg. He is also a graduate of VCU, holding a doctorate in pharmacy and a master's degree in health administration.
