Upcoming changes to patient and visitor parking at VCU Medical Center
In May, patients and visitors to VCU Health’s downtown Richmond location will use the parking deck at 515 N. 13th Street.

Starting on May 4, patients and visitors to VCU Medical Center will need to park in a new location.
Parking will move to a new dedicated parking area located at 515 N. 13th Street in Richmond, Virginia. Parking at the Patient/Visitor Parking @ D Deck will be free for patients and visitors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The medical center’s 12th Street Parking Deck, which is currently used by patients and visitors, will close on May 4.
If you prefer to use the valet service to park your vehicle, valet services will continue to be offered at the following locations: Gateway Building, Ambulatory Care Center (ACC), Adult Outpatient Pavilion and North Hospital. Valet services will not be available at the self-parking facilities.
Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU’s Children’s Parking Deck is only available for use by pediatric patients, their families and visitors.
Parking for patients and visitors will move from the 12th Street Parking Deck (red area) to a new parking area across the street (yellow area) on May 4, 2026. (James Morrisard, Enterprise Marketing and Communications)

What day do the parking changes take effect and for how long?
Patient and visitor parking will move on May 4, 2026. These changes are indefinite, since the previous patient parking area will close permanently.
Will patient transport services be available?
Yes, patient transport services will be available at the main Information Desk once you are inside the medical center. Please call 804-628-0524.
Is there still a valet service?
Valet services are not available at self-parking facilities.
Valet services are offered at the following locations: Gateway Building, Ambulatory Care Center (ACC), Adult Outpatient Pavilion, North Hospital and the Children’s Pavilion at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.
