Team Member of the Month for September - Brian Jones

Scott Burnette, CEO, VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital presented Brian Jones, Cook in the department of Food and Nutrition Services, the VCU Health CMH STAR Service Team Member of the Month Award for September. There to congratulate Brian was Todd Howell, Vice President of Professional Services; Curtis Poole, Director of Food and Nutrition Services and Tommy Pistolis, Chef, Food and Nutrition Services.
Brian has been employed at VCU Health CMH for more than eight years. Brian is a Park View High School graduate and in his free time he enjoys playing music and fishing. When asked about words of wisdom that Brain would give others, he stated, “If life gives you lemons, then make lemonade! Always do your best!”
The nomination form submitted on his behalf stated, “I observed Brian Jones providing excellent customer service for a patient and family members. The patient asked for an item not on the menu and when Brian replied that it wasn’t available he saw the disappointment on the patient’s face and decided he would fix that item for the patient and family members. He responded with kind words and a smile. Brian’s caring nature and cheerful personality make him a shining star and a valuable asset to VCU Health CMH.” “Brian always treats everyone with respect and will go out of his way to help anyone, day or night. I was moved by the way he provided service for this patient and family, this is the norm for Brian.”
In addition to the award certificate, Brian received a STAR Service lapel pin, letter of commendation from Administration, a $40 gift certificate, and a parking place of his choice for the month
