June 20, 2018The Fredericksburg location of Cowboy Jack’s, a national restaurant chain, raised $3,500 to benefit Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU’s (CHoR) Fredericksburg Therapy Center this spring. The restaurant collected donations in April, which is also Autism Awareness Month, and donated a percentage of sales on April 28. The second annual event was organized by the restaurant’s general manager, Samantha Fredo Smyth, whose 4-year-old son, Brody, has autism and receives weekly therapies at CHoR’s Fredericksburg Therapy Center.
