VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the newest member of the CMH Foundation board of directors. Norman Wagstaff Jr., of Clarksville, was voted in during the November 2022 meeting and began serving in February 2023.

Wagstaff is the owner of Trottinridge Commercial Properties, LLC, a real estate rental property company. He is the former owner and president of Wagstaff Angus, a cattle and agriculture business, and Wagstaff Construction Services, Inc. He also serves as the vice chairman of the Touchstone Bank board of directors.

“I was born at CMH. I am honored to serve on the foundation board,” Wagstaff said. “Physical and mental health is so important. VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital contributes to the well-being of our citizens and the economy of our community.”

His vision for the CMH Foundation is to help provide a state-of-the-art medical facility and limit the need for patients to travel outside the area for care.

“I’ve had family members get excellent care at VCU Health. While it is sometimes necessary to travel for care, we shouldn’t have to,” he said.

Brenda Palmore, interim foundation director, says the group is pleased to welcome Wagstaff to the board. 
 
“[Norman’s] vast experience across construction, retail, agriculture and real estate represents our community well. He brings loyalty, responsibility and guidance to the board,” Palmore said. 

Other Board Members and Officers
The officers of the CMH board of directors for the 2023-24 fiscal year are:  Chairman William Solari, Vice Chair Sandra Hubbard and Treasurer Ray Pittman. 
 
Other board members include:  Sheri Sparkman, Carolyn Blackwell, Genie Rimon, Shirley Gibson and Carrie Mills. 

Staff include Sheldon Barr, executive director; Brenda Palmore, interim foundation director; and Christy Edmonds, foundation coordinator.
