Volunteers from Richmond-area Kohl’s Department Stores visited Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU's Brook Road Campus in celebration of Earth Day this spring. 30-50 associates attended this Go Green Day event to add some plant life to the hospital campus. Throughout the year, the Midlothian, Short Pump, Brandermill, Chesterfield, and Mechanicsville stores all support CHoR.

Kohl’s associates from the Midlothian store won a wagon planting contest that was judged by patients and hospital staff. The wagons will be used throughout the spring and summer as decorations around the hospital. As part of the Associates in Action program, Kohl’s also awarded Children’s Hospital Foundation a $4,000 grant, representing $1,000 for each of the four participating stores. Since 2010, local Kohl’s stores have donated over $63,000 through Go Green Day.
