Golf Tournament Raises Funds for Foundation
June 28, 2018Roofing contractors, suppliers and consultants took to the links on April 26, raising more than $15,000 for Children’s Hospital Foundation (CHF) through registration fees, sponsorships and raffle ticket sales. More than 125 players participated in the third annual event sponsored by the Virginia Association of Roofing Professionals (VARP) at Kiln Creek Golf Club in Newport News.
Because VARP members regularly provide roofing services to families and organizations in need, the organization’s members chose to expand their giving by supporting children’s hospitals across Virginia through the charity golf tournament. This year’s event was the first to benefit CHF.
“We want to spread our support to children’s hospitals around the state because VARP is a statewide organization,” said Mike Pease, 1st Vice President, VARP, and chairman of this year’s tournament. “It’s rewarding to have a fun day of golf while at the same time supporting a worthy charity.”
