Four Mile Fun Run Cancelled
August 18, 2017Children’s Hospital Foundation was notified yesterday, August 17, by the City of Richmond Police Department that due to the uncertainty of anticipated protests and in the interest of public safety, all events scheduled for September 15-18, 2017 requiring a City of Richmond permit have been cancelled.
This includes our Children’s Hospital Foundation Four Mile Fun Run originally scheduled for September 16, which is now cancelled. After careful consideration, we have made the decision not to reschedule the event. We are working diligently to notify all involved including our sponsors, race participants, volunteers, vendors, and staff.
Please know that our Foundation fully supports the decision made by the City of Richmond Police Department. We understand that public safety is the most important criteria by which events must be measured. We trust that our community will remain safe and peaceful as they work to protect us all.
Participants who have already signed up can expect a refund to their credit card for their registration, less the amount kept by ChronoTrack for credit card processing fees.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Matt Brady, Race Director and Vice President for Development and Communications, at mbrady@chfrichmond.org or 804-249-8633.
We would like to thank everyone for their support and enthusiasm for this annual event. We hope to see you in 2018.
