How We Help You
Here’s what you can expect as a VCU Health Specialty Pharmacy customer:
- Prompt prescription processing. As soon as we receive the electronic prescription sent by your provider, we’ll gather the information we need to begin preparing your order.
- Behind-the-scenes insurance support. Once we’ve received your insurance information, we will work with your clinic and insurance provider to perform benefits investigation and process prior authorizations if needed.
- Financial assistance. If you still have a high prescription drug copay despite your insurance coverage — or you don’t have insurance at all — we’ll explore different options to help you get the lowest price possible. Learn more about the financial services we offer.
- Delivery service. We’ll deliver your medications straight to your home (or your location of choice). Although we’re primarily a mail order pharmacy, we also offer in-person medication pick-up. You can come to our facility at 1030 Wilmer Ave. in Richmond, or we can coordinate the pick-up at another VCU pharmacy location. Call us at 1-877-814-3475 to discuss your options.
- Refill reminders. We’ll call you 5-10 days before it’s time to refill your medication.
- Ongoing education and support. Our pharmacists want you to feel comfortable with your medications. We’re here to answer any questions you have.
- Language assistance. We offer interpreter services for patients who do not speak English.
