Virginia Lawyer Referral Service
The Virginia State Bar’s referral service matches clients to attorneys with expertise in the needed area of law. They charge a flat fee for the initial consultation; fees after that depend on the attorney and the legal issue.
National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys
The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys has a search tool for finding local accredited elder law attorneys. They can help with guardianships, wills, estate planning, and other services.
Free Legal Answers is a virtual legal advice clinic run by the American Bar Association. Anyone with a qualifying income can submit questions and receive free, written answers from licensed attorneys.
Virginia Poverty Law Center Helplines
Virginia Poverty Law Center (VPLC) offers helplines on various legal issues, including SNAP, Medicaid, utilities, and predatory loans. They also have one specifically to assist seniors 60 and older.
