Biography
Dr. Cannone was born on Long Island, New York, grew up in Asheville, North Carolina and currently resides near Richmond. He completed medical school and pediatric residency in Virginia and then returned to Long Island for fellowship training in pediatric hematology, oncology and stem cell transplant. He completed a second fellowship in pediatric hospice and palliative medicine in Tennessee.
He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and member of American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He is on faculty for the Pediatrics Residency Program as a pediatric coach/advisor and is assistant program director for the palliative fellowship. He also serves as assistant medical director of Noah's Children, a home-based palliative care program based out of Bon Secours.
Dr. Cannone joined the CHoR faculty in August 2019 and loves the Richmond area, especially the people and the food scene.
